However, we experienced that heavy rains in and around the City, has and may cause damage to properties and other inconveniences such as power outages, flooding of rivers and rendered some roads unsafe for motorists, in and around the City.
It is against this background that the City wishes to bring the following to the attention of the residents, pedestrians and motorists alike: ? to be on alert, ? use alternative otib roads in the event that some roads are or would be closed off ? not to cross flooding otib rivers particularly now during the rainy season and ? to seriously adhere to the road traffic control signs.
We herewith assure the residents of the City Of Windhoek that, the City?s Emergency response team, is in preparedness to deal with any eventuality that may arise during this period, and will continuously otib monitor the surroundings of the City in order to have the situation under control
As rivers may start flowing and crossing these may pose a danger to residents ? motorists and pedestrians, we wish to draw the attention of the Windhoek residents and valued clients of the City of Windhoek to the following danger zones within the City:While the City of Windhoek will remain otib vigilant to apply all the necessary resources otib to ensure the safety of the residents and prevent possible loss of lives and damage to properties, the City can not do so without the cooperation of the residents and valued clients.
