It has been reported that Security torchlight2 officers at some of the hospitals ran by the Pennine Acute Hospital Trust are to be fitted with CCTV cameras as part as a bid to address incidents of violent behaviour in the hospitals.
Security staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital and the North Manchester General Hospital will wear the cameras on their stab proof vests . They are likely to be discreet torchlight2 and probably will record 24 hours of footage which will probably be deleted after a set time to meet data protection guidelines.
As part of a three month trial commencing some of the Trust s Security Officers at North Manchester General Hospital and The Royal Oldham Hospital will be wearing CCTV cameras attached to their stab-proof vests .
It is quite possible that this kind of equipment will become torchlight2 more mainstream. It could be especially useful in the Door Supervisor industry as a form of recording incidents and the evidence would possible be very useful when prosecuting offenders who are found with drugs or weapons.
CCTV has for a long time been a controversial subject. Some people are adamant that it infringes privacy, though the majority of people torchlight2 do believe that it has helped to reduce crime in many areas. CCTV allows a covert or overt deterent to potential offenders, and hopefully schemes like this will reduce hostile situations in the NHS etc.
There has long been an unacceptable number of violent instances carried out on medical staff just trying to do their jobs. Many NHS authorities are adopting detailed protection surveys which should torchlight2 result in every front line medical professional being given a comfortable and unrestrictive piece personal body armour.
