Matt of All Trades blog, like the title suggests, is by a Vermont author and offers offbeat musings

Matt of All Trades blog, like the title suggests, is by a Vermont author and offers offbeat musings on pop culture, media, journalism, humor, weirdness, stupid people, smart people, my life as a journalist, landscaper, photographer, married gay man, dog lover and weather geek and more. It's run by me, Matt Sutkoski, a native Vermonter living in St. Albans, Vt.
I've always liked the kind of guy who takes care of his own problems, just solves the issues that comes up and moves on. James Grant recovering nicely from the shark bite that he fixed up on his own.   Which is why New Zealander James Grant, 24, is my kind of guy. According to the Sydney (Australia) Morning surveillance equipment Herald, Grant was spearfishing along the coast of New Zealand, in maybe about six feet of water when he felt a shark bite his leg. Grant said he thought, "Bugger, now I have to try and get this thing off my leg." Let's stop there for a second. Notice the lack of panic. I love it. He sounded about as alarmed as when us normal people surveillance equipment would like to remove a non-biting fly that landed on our arm. Grant had a knife, for his spearfishing, so he stabbed the offending shark, which then let go of its grip. Grant said his friends didn't notice, so he waded to shore and used the first aid kit he uses for his pig hunting dogs (!!!)  to stitch up the bite on his lower leg. Eventually, his friends returned, and after their fun day retired to Colac Bay Tavern for a beer. The people at the tavern like Grant, but were slightly annoyed by the blood dripping on the floor, so they gave him a bandage to help contain the mess. After his beer, he went to a nearby hospital where he works so they could improve upon his stitching a bit. And so, after another enjoyable but routine weekend, he went back to work the following Monday. I really do have to wonder what in the world, if anything, would alarm Grant. If an army of space aliens tried to kidnap him, would he just fend them off, while yawning, surveillance equipment with his spearfishing knife? surveillance equipment If somebody decided to try dropping a nuclear bomb on Grant's head, would he just swat it away like a picnicker dispatching a vaguely annoying surveillance equipment mosquito? The Morning Herald article says Grant is a junior doctor. Maybe his real calling is to be some sort of superhero.

Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up. A. A. Milne Read more at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/keywords/organizing.html#wTxlEXtJM7bRVKmB.99
Like the rest of the world....I cctv 4 have the organizing bug....just a slight case.....nothing serious, but I did clean a couple of drawers yesterday and I am determined to put the Holiday Decor away in some sort of sensible order with (GASP) labels on the boxes....
I did take a break from my organizing to do some blog reading....and of course it was the organizing tips that caught my eye....(maybe my organizing bug is more serious than I thought)!   Irina's Cute Box
This picture is NOT taken from the inside of my closet....why.....because I haven't gotten to the rest of the organizing that it needs!  cctv 4 The scarf organizer filled with scarves takes up about 5 inches of space in the closet....I plan to use it to keep the scarves I am wearing right now....the rest can just stay in the box under the bed!

Your scarf organizer is pretty cool, if I do say so myself! Actually, that is why I think long and hard about the DIY jobs I do, when it comes to making items, that is. I find a lot of times, it costs more than simply buying something new. Then again, I'm still purging my possessions, and embracing minimalism. I have about 6 scarves, and I wear them all VERY often, and think I might be able to shrink my supply down a bit further. I must say, you have quite the nice collection there yourself! Have a great 2014! Reply Delete
Actually, I like your scarf organizer better! It looks sturdier and wouldn't crease the scarves as much as the original one! Besides, I'll bet you can get the PVC free if you know a plumber! Or even scavenging around houses that are being built, you can probably find a piece or two! Thank you so much for this idea - can't wait to make one for myself! Reply Delete
Thank you! I actually have been pondering shopping for this program however could not conjure my mind however. therefore glad to visualize that you simply truly use the program to begin your PO business and is successful! cricket-organizer Reply Delete

Frugal Valentine s Day I Love You Banner
You can find paint swatches for free at your local hardware store, or retail store even. Grab just a few, as you won t need many for this project. You will need three larger squares, and a few smaller for your lettering. If you don t own scalloped scissors don t fret, you can use regular scissors and just create a fancier edge.
Directions: 1. Begin by cutting your lettering out of your darker colored samples. You want them to pop against the background, so darker shades work best. Cut out a simple i , a heart, and then a u. Set the lettering aside. 2. Use your scissors to create scallop on both the top and bottom of the larger paint samples. This will give them a fancier and festive look. 3. You are now going to attach your lettering. Do this by using craft glue to secure each letter to the center of the larger vigorously squares. 4. Add additional embellishment to the squares. We cut out some small hearts and placed them in various places on the squares. 5. Run your string through the cards so the banner can hang. Our swatches already had the holes in them, but if yours don t simply cut one out and thread the string through.
There you have it! Your banner is now ready for hanging. vigorously How sweet would this look in your home as you prepare for the Valentine s Day season? Pretty sweet indeed! So gather your supplies and give this simple DIY project a try. It is a simple craft that is sure to get you into the Valentine s Day spirit!

I love finding ways to spruce up and use old things and I

We’ve come a long way since moving into our small condo just over a year ago. The apartment has transformed into a lovely and cozy little starter den led home for my fiance and I. The only negative about the space is the lack of storage. It seems builders have traded indoor amenities (only in NYC would a linen closet be considered den led an amenity) such as closets and cabinets for the outdoor amenities of rooftop lounges and private gyms. So when a gal has to figure out where to put stuff, it means it’s time to combine creative brainstorming with a little DYI.
My need for a space to place all those little extras that I never have room for after a good run at Costco, led me to wanting to re-purpose an old small bookcase from our last rental apartment. Luckily it was the same height and width as our kitchen counter/island and with it being just over 8 inches deep it hardly took up any additional space in our walk way. Here’s what I did:
Using the cardboard box from furniture we had just purchased, I cut it up to fit the exact length and width of the shelves and used spare fabric den led from an older DYI project to cover the boards and made stylish shelve liners. I used regular clear packing tape to adhere the fabric to the downside of the cardboard.
I love finding ways to spruce up and use old things and I’m glad this 20 year old bookcase made the cut when we moved to our new place. At the time I had no idea how I would end up using it, but now I couldn’t be more thrilled with the desperately needed den led kitchen storage it provides. It just goes to show you, even in a new space, something old can become new and useful again.

I recently made this card with the challenge being a Winter Scene for Sunsational Stamp Blog Hop.  This spy watch is a DYI- paper piecing card.  There are many window dies on the market but I don't have one and didn't have time to order one so getting out my trusty scissors, spy watch I created my own.

Sandy here with Monday's Die Cutting project. There are many window dies on the market, but I don't have one and didn't have time to order one so getting out my trusty scissors, I created my own.  So this is a  "faux die cut" or a DYI- paper piecing card. My tip for you: invest in some foam pop up tape. You can get this at the craft or hardwear store cheap and last much longer that pop dots. Plus you can cut the size and with that you really need.
Here is what I used for this project: Momento Sky Blue ink, glue pen, white/blue/brown cardstock, small pattern papers, scissors, white paint pen (not showm), power2max digi stamp and little images from a 12x12 design paper pad.
My digi stamp is from Sunsational Stamps. He is actually peeking out of the stocking but I just colored power2max him and cut him away from the stocking. I'll save the stocking for another card. I also colored hit stocking cap to make it wintery and not Christmasy. I used Spectrum Nior markers to color this little guy.
Hope you like it and learned a new to you technique!  If you have a question, power2max please leave it in the comments, and a DT member will get back to you. You can find more inspiration and projects at my blog: A Working Mom's Joy . Girls love to do their nails -I know this because my girlfriend loves this- that’s why every time I discover something related to this art on the web I like to share it with the women across the world. This time a company based in the UK called DYI Nails has created a set of decals with donuts wireless security cameras and ice-creams on them that could make Homer Simpson drool to death. The collection costs around wireless security cameras $10 bucks and it also offers decals with de face of David Bowie, pizzas and more; with them any girl can decide if she feels cold and fun like an ice-cream, hot like a doughnut, or rocker like Bowie. wireless security cameras
